Houston Police Seek Suspect in Reported Armed Shoplifting Incident
Houston detectives are requesting public assistance to identify a man involved in an alleged armed shoplifting incident in downtown Houston. The event occurred around 3:15 p.m. on July 22, on Elgin Street near Fannin. According to police reports, a security guard observed the suspect concealing several items and attempting to leave a store without payment. When confronted by the security guard, the suspect reportedly claimed to possess a gun, pushed the guard aside, and then departed with the unpaid merchandise. Authorities are now seeking information from the public to help locate and identify the individual responsible for this crime. Crime Stoppers of Houston is offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the identification and arrest of the suspect, and tipsters can remain anonymous.
