South Dakota School Districts Receive Grants to Enhance Career and Technical Education
Four school districts in South Dakota have been awarded Workforce Education Grants by the state Department of Education to enhance their career and technical education (CTE) programs. The grants aim to foster innovation in middle and high school CTE by promoting partnerships between schools, colleges, and industries. The Frederick Area School District received $55,142 for its agriculture program, Hill City School District was granted $18,229 for manufacturing upgrades, Rapid City Area Schools obtained $223,830 to modernize its culinary arts lab, and Spearfish School District was awarded $43,175 to enhance its manufacturing program. These grants are intended to equip students with practical skills and real-world experience, better preparing them for college and the workforce.
