American Farm Bureau Trains Women Leaders to Enhance Agriculture Advocacy
The American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) recently concluded its Women's Communications Boot Camp, a program designed to enhance the communication skills of women leaders in agriculture. The four-day training session focused on public speaking, media engagement, message development, and storytelling, aiming to empower participants to effectively advocate for agricultural issues. Isabella Chism, chair of the AFB Women's Leadership Committee, emphasized the importance of women's roles in advancing agriculture through leadership and engagement. The program, which has now graduated 353 women, is part of AFBF's efforts to strengthen agriculture advocacy at local, state, and national levels. Participants are expected to use their skills in media interviews, communications with elected officials, and social media campaigns to bridge the gap between farmers and the public.
