France and South Korea to Co-Chair International Summit on Cinema and Video Games
France and South Korea have announced a collaborative effort to co-chair an international summit focused on cinema, series, and video games. This event, named the 'Cinema & Moving Image Summit,' is set to take place on September 7 at the Fondation Maeght in Saint-Paul de Vence, France. The summit will gather around 100 industry leaders, including CEOs, filmmakers, and policymakers, to address pressing challenges in the entertainment sector. These challenges include the future of theatrical exhibition, the convergence of television, streaming, and gaming, as well as film heritage preservation and sustainable production. The announcement was made during French President Emmanuel Macron's official visit to South Korea, where he met with South Korean President Lee Jae-myung. The summit aims to foster new alliances across the entertainment industry, particularly between cinema and video games, and between Europe and Asia.
