Penn State Student Accused of Leading Campus Cocaine Ring Released on Bond
Agostino Abbatiello, a 24-year-old Penn State student, has been released on a $250,000 secured bond after being accused of leading a cocaine trafficking operation on campus. According to testimony from his alleged accomplice, Lars Zeepvat, Abbatiello transformed from a 'dorky' Long Island kid into a campus figure known as 'The Godfather' after he began dealing drugs. Zeepvat testified during a preliminary hearing at Centre County Courthouse that Abbatiello, an accounting major, started selling cocaine during his junior year in 2021 after rushing with Sigma Chai. The operation allegedly involved driving to Philadelphia to acquire cocaine, with Abbatiello making large purchases, including one of 100 grams. He reportedly distributed free cocaine at afterparties and used the profits for new clothing, an expensive bong, and gambling.
