This disruption occurred after Russia lost access to Starlink, a satellite internet service previously used by Russian forces. The loss of connectivity affected nearly 90% of Russian units, as reported by Ukrainian electronic technology specialist Serhiy Beskrestnov. The disruption followed Elon Musk's decision to shut down Starlink services in response to successful negotiations with Ukraine's Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov. The Ukrainian government has implemented a 'whitelist' system, allowing only approved Starlink terminals to connect, effectively cutting off Russian access. This move has led to internet outages on both sides of the conflict, with potential long-term setbacks for Russian military operations.
