Baykar Unveils Sivrisinek UAV at SAHA 2026, Enhancing Tactical Capabilities
Turkish company Baykar has officially unveiled its new Sivrisinek one-way attack unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) at the SAHA 2026 exhibition in Istanbul. The Sivrisinek, developed in collaboration with Pakistan, is designed as a low-cost, catapult-launched, fire-and-forget surface-to-surface UAV. It features a piston engine, pusher propeller, and a gimbaled electro-optical camera for targeting and guidance. The UAV is available in two variants: the UM variant, which is a simplified, lower-cost version with a range of over 1,000 km, and the UMX variant, which includes AI-enabled guidance and improved data connectivity. The UMX variant can relay communications and engage targets at ranges over 80 km, providing enhanced intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities.
