Man Arrested at California Airport for Alleged Explosive Device in Carry-On
A man named Kimani Osayande Jones was arrested at Sacramento International Airport after TSA agents discovered an explosive device in his carry-on bag. The device, described as an M-type improvised explosive, was found alongside a torch lighter, knife, scissors, and other items. Jones, who was wearing a scarf and latex gloves, was attempting to pass through a security checkpoint when the discovery was made. Bomb technicians safely removed the device, which was deemed viable and capable of causing significant damage if detonated mid-air. Jones has been charged with unlawful possession of explosive material at an airport and faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted.
