Schiebel Secures French Navy Order for Five CAMCOPTER S-100 Systems, Expanding Fleet
Schiebel has received an order from the French Navy for five additional CAMCOPTER S-100 systems. This order was placed through the French Government's defense procurement and technology agency, Direction Générale de l’Armement (DGA), and Naval Group under the Navy’s unmanned aviation program. Naval Group, acting as the prime contractor and lead system integrator, will deploy and integrate these systems on Frégates Européennes Multi-Mission (FREMM) frigates. Each system comprises two CAMCOPTER S-100 Unmanned Air Vehicles (UAV), which will increase the French Navy’s total fleet to eight systems upon completion of deliveries. The French Navy has been operating the CAMCOPTER S-100 globally since 2012, initially integrating it aboard the Gowind-class L’Adroit Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV).
