Pentagon Sued Over Alleged Secretive Primate Experiments Funded by Taxpayers
The Pentagon is facing a lawsuit filed by White Coat Waste (WCW), a bipartisan government watchdog, for allegedly not responding to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. These requests pertain to U.S. taxpayer-funded primate experiments conducted both domestically and internationally. WCW claims that these experiments, which involve hundreds of monkeys, are wasteful and deadly, costing millions of dollars. The lawsuit aims to force the Department of Defense to release photos, videos, and other records of these experiments, which are reportedly conducted in labs in Thailand, Peru, and the United States. The watchdog alleges that the experiments involve painful procedures such as sleep deprivation, surgical mutilation, and exposure to bioweapons. The Pentagon has not commented on the pending litigation.
