Day One Fitness in Beech Island Organizes Fundraiser for Neurological Conditions
Day One Fitness, a gym in Beech Island, is organizing its first-ever 'Ring Leader Rumble' fundraiser to support individuals with neurological conditions. The non-profit gym provides high-intensity exercise and non-contact boxing programs tailored for people facing conditions like Alzheimer's. Bill Conkright, a local man diagnosed with Alzheimer's three years ago, shared his positive experience with the gym, noting how the exercises have helped slow the progression of his disease and provided a supportive community. The fundraiser, scheduled for November 5th at 5:30 p.m. at Day One Fitness, aims to raise both funds and awareness. Development coordinator Maggie Haiduc explained that participants, referred to as 'ring leaders,' will compete in 'Minute to Win It' games designed to incorporate balance challenges, manual dexterity, voice elements, and boxing elements, all reflecting the gym's activities. The event seeks community participation to help sustain the gym's operations and expand its reach.
