Delta Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Las Vegas Due to Pressurization Issue
A Delta Air Lines flight, DL2311, made an emergency landing in Las Vegas on Sunday after experiencing an 'unexpected pressurization issue' shortly after departing Los Angeles. The Boeing 737-900, carrying 174 passengers and six crew members, was en route from Los Angeles to Salt Lake City when the incident occurred. According to an air traffic control recording obtained by ATC.com, the aircraft rapidly descended from 36,200 feet to 9,000 feet in approximately 10 minutes. During the descent, the pilot confirmed to air traffic control that oxygen masks had deployed. Delta stated that the flight crew followed their training and procedures to safely bring the aircraft to an optimal altitude. Passengers deplaned normally in Las Vegas and were subsequently rebooked on another aircraft to continue their journey. Delta issued an apology to its customers for the experience and commended its flight crews and ground support teams for their professionalism.
