Northeast Heat Wave to End With Weekend Storms
Summer-like heat is expected to surge across the Northeast on Friday, with temperatures climbing into the 90s in cities including New York, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. A strong high-pressure system will push temperatures 10 to 15 degrees above average before a cold front arrives this weekend. Severe thunderstorms are expected Saturday into Sunday across parts of the Ohio Valley and Interstate 95 corridor, bringing heavy rain, gusty winds, and a sharp cooldown back into the 60s and 70s.
