Public Outrage Over Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's Rent-Free Living and Subletting Income
A new investigation has revealed that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly Prince Andrew, sublet three properties on his Royal Lodge estate, collecting income while paying a symbolic 'peppercorn rent' for his own residence. This arrangement, part of a 75-year lease, has been criticized for allowing him to live rent-free while profiting from subletting. The report by the National Audit Office also highlighted that his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, live in royal properties with rent paid by the Privy Purse. The findings have been labeled 'outrageous' by critics, who argue that the financial benefits should have gone to the Crown Estate rather than Mountbatten-Windsor.
