Qantas Flight Diverts to Tahiti After Passenger Bites Flight Attendant
A Qantas flight from Melbourne to Dallas-Fort Worth was forced to divert to Tahiti after a passenger bit a flight attendant. The incident occurred on Qantas flight 21, operated by a Boeing 787-9. The disruptive passenger, identified as a New Zealander, was restrained by other passengers, and sedatives were administered, though they were reportedly ineffective. The aircraft landed at Fa’a’a International Airport in Papeete, Tahiti, to remove the passenger. The flight eventually continued to Dallas, arriving over three hours late. This incident is part of a troubling trend of in-flight disruptions involving physical altercations.
