Union Sues TSA Over Lack of Transparency in Privatization Plan

The union claims that TSA has withheld information about the initiative, which aims to expand the privatization of airport security screening functions. AFGE argues that TSA has not provided a timeline for responding to their Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request filed in May, nor have they released any relevant documents. The Gold+ initiative involves private companies managing both the screening workforce and technology, marking a significant shift from the current federal screening operations.
