Reckless Driver Arrested for Fiery Car Meet-Up in Queens, NYPD Takes Action
A reckless driver, Asil Assaidi, was arrested by the NYPD after allegedly participating in a chaotic car meet-up at a Queens intersection. The event, which took place at the Eliot Avenue and 69th Street intersection, involved dangerous driving maneuvers such as doing doughnuts and burning rubber, which were captured on video. The NYPD charged Assaidi with reckless endangerment, riot, and criminal mischief, among other offenses. The incident drew significant attention after footage showed a motorist waving a Palestinian flag and two men damaging a police vehicle. The NYPD has been actively working to deter such street takeovers, having shut down 61 incidents this year, resulting in 51 arrests and the seizure of 62 cars.
