Buffalo Bills Owners Donate $175K to Governor Hochul Following Stadium Funding
Governor Kathy Hochul of New York has received nearly $175,000 in donations from the billionaire owners of the Buffalo Bills, Terry and Kim Pegula. This follows her advocacy for a $600 million state investment in the team's new stadium. The Pegulas' contributions, the largest they have made to state elections, were split between Hochul's re-election campaign and the New York Democratic Party. The stadium project, which also received $250 million from Erie County, is the largest construction endeavor in Western New York, with a total cost of $1.4 billion. The donations have sparked criticism from political opponents, who argue that the real contributors to the stadium are the taxpayers.
