Singer D4vd Arrested in Connection with 14-Year-Old's Death, Legal Proceedings Await
The alt-pop singer D4vd, legally known as David Burke, has been arrested on suspicion of murdering 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. The arrest comes seven months after Hernandez's body was discovered in a towed SUV registered to Burke. The Los Angeles Police Department has not yet charged Burke, and the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office is reviewing the case to determine if there is sufficient evidence to file charges. Burke's defense attorneys assert his innocence, emphasizing that no indictment has been returned and no criminal complaint has been filed. Hernandez was reported missing in 2024, and her body was found in a decomposed state in a Tesla Model Y in Hollywood Hills. The case has been under investigation by a Los Angeles County grand jury, which was revealed when Burke's family objected to subpoenas demanding their testimony.
