Authorities quickly established a perimeter and located a man nearby who had sustained serious, but non-life-threatening, gunshot injuries. Following witness interviews, Shangreaux was identified as the alleged shooter and arrested. Police reported recovering the suspected firearm inside the apartment. Investigators believe that Shangreaux and the victim were known to each other, indicating that the shooting was not a random act. Shangreaux is currently being held on a $75,000 cash-only bond.

The disease is more common in older adults, typically over 65, as bone marrow stem cells become more prone to errors with age. Early detection and understanding these risk factors are vital for managing the disease.
