Arbor Day Foundation Invests in Wildfire Resilience Technology to Combat Increasing Fire Severity
The Arbor Day Foundation's Impact Fund has made investments in two organizations, Vibrant Planet and Convective Capital, to enhance wildfire prevention and recovery efforts. These investments aim to shift from reactive wildfire response to proactive landscape resilience. According to Dan Lambe, CEO of the Arbor Day Foundation, wildfires in the U.S. and globally are burning longer, hotter, and more frequently, with fire seasons now extending year-round across much of the West. Vibrant Planet, a public benefit corporation, utilizes a data-driven planning platform that integrates geospatial data, climate models, and treatment recommendations to identify high-risk areas and prioritize forest management actions.
