Mekorot and nT-Tao Collaborate on Fusion Energy Pilot for Water Infrastructure
Mekorot, Israel's national water company, and nT-Tao, a developer of compact fusion energy systems, have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore the establishment of a research and development center and pilot facility. This collaboration aims to test the application of fusion energy systems in powering critical water and wastewater infrastructure. The initiative seeks to address the high electricity consumption and operational continuity required by modern water facilities, such as desalination and wastewater treatment plants. The pilot facility will enable testing of fusion energy systems under real-world conditions, potentially offering a stable and resilient power source for these energy-intensive operations.
