Lewiston Woman Severely Injured in Highway 14 Camper Mishap
A severe traffic incident occurred on Highway 14 near Dover, Minnesota, involving a camper top that detached from a vehicle and crashed into an oncoming SUV. The accident took place at the intersection of Highway 14 and 19th Ave. SE. The State Patrol reported that the camper top, which was being towed by an eastbound truck, broke free and flew into the westbound lane, striking the SUV. The SUV was driven by 21-year-old Kaydence Rita Plank from Lewiston, with 42-year-old Carrie Lee Elliotplank, also from Lewiston, as a passenger. Elliotplank sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester. Plank suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was also taken to the hospital. The tow truck driver, 31-year-old Christopher Joseph Goetz, was unharmed. All individuals involved were wearing seatbelts, and alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
