Generation X and Millennials are primarily moving to Florida and Texas, although their subsequent preferences differ. Gen X tends to favor the Southeast and Mountain West, while Millennials are spreading to California and several Midwest states for career opportunities. The report also notes that Generation Z is gravitating towards densely populated areas with ample educational and job opportunities, such as Texas and California. U-Haul's data, based on one-way rental transactions, indicates that Millennials and Gen X account for over 60% of these moves, reflecting their significant role in current migration trends.
