Experimental Drug Shows Promise in Extending Survival for Pancreatic Cancer Patients
An experimental drug, daraxonrasib, has shown promising results in a Phase 3 clinical trial for patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer. The trial, which enrolled 500 patients, revealed that those treated with daraxonrasib had a median overall survival of 13.2 months, compared to 6.7 months for those receiving chemotherapy. The drug, designed to block RAS proteins, reduced the risk of death by 60%. These findings were presented at the American Society of Clinical Oncology annual meeting and published in the New England Journal of Medicine.
