H-4 Visa Restrictions Lead to Relocation from U.S. to Canada for Indian Immigrant
Shrutinder Kaur, an Indian immigrant, shared her experience of moving to the U.S. on an H-4 visa, which does not automatically allow work authorization. Despite having a law degree, Kaur faced challenges in the U.S. due to visa restrictions and the non-recognition of her foreign degree in Arizona. She pursued an MBA in New York, taking a significant financial risk with a $100,000 loan. Eventually, Kaur and her husband decided to relocate to Canada, where she found more freedom and job opportunities. The move was motivated by the desire for stability and a better quality of life, which they felt the U.S. could not provide.
