Wexner Foundation to Spin Off Leadership Programs Amid Epstein Controversy
The Wexner Foundation has announced plans to spin off its North American leadership programs into a new independent nonprofit. This decision comes as the foundation's benefactor, Les Wexner, faces ongoing scrutiny for his past ties to Jeffrey Epstein. The new nonprofit will be supported by a $40 million gift from Wexner and his wife, Abigail. The foundation's leadership programs have been instrumental in developing Jewish communal leaders, providing educational and professional development opportunities. The move to create an independent entity has been in consideration for some time, according to Wexner Foundation President Rabbi B. Elka Abrahamson. The new organization will be led by Rabbi Jay Moses and Or Mars, with a new board of directors currently being formed.
