OKC Officer Intervenes in ICE Detention of U.S. Citizen
Body camera footage has surfaced showing an Oklahoma City police officer assisting a U.S. citizen, Jesson Baez, who was detained by ICE agents. The incident occurred on Interstate 44, where Baez was stopped while trying to inform a coworker's family about their detention. The officer intervened, allowing Baez to be released. The case has drawn attention to the issue of U.S. citizens being mistakenly detained by immigration authorities, with local attorney and state Sen. Michael Brooks-Jimenez highlighting similar cases.
