IFRS Foundation Announces Leadership Transition with Maijoor and Woods
The IFRS Foundation has confirmed the appointments of Steven Maijoor as the next Chair of the Trustees and Sam Woods as the Chair of the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB). Maijoor will begin his term on January 1, 2027, while Woods will start on October 1, 2026. Maijoor, a former Chair of the European Securities and Markets Authority, will lead a group of 22 Trustees from around the world. Woods, who has a background in regulatory roles at the Bank of England and the UK Prudential Regulation Authority, will succeed Andreas Barckow as IASB Chair.
