First Snow of the Season Hits Arizona Snowbowl
The first measurable snow of the 2026-2027 season has been recorded at Arizona Snowbowl, with two inches of snow falling at the summit on September 29, 2026. This marks the beginning of winter weather for several ski resorts across the Southwest and Canadian Rockies. In addition to Arizona Snowbowl, resorts such as Breckenridge, Loveland, and Powderhorn in Colorado, as well as Banff Sunshine, Nakiska, Whistler Blackcomb, Kicking Horse, and Lake Louise in Canada, are also expecting snowfall in the coming days. The snowfall is attributed to a moisture-laden storm system moving through the region, bringing the first signs of winter to high-elevation areas. Source time: September 29, 2026, 01:17 PM.
