Mécène Collection Unveiled at Francophone Business Summit, Showcasing Economic and Cultural Heritage
The Mécène collection, a significant private collection of banknotes from the French-speaking world, was publicly unveiled for the first time at the Entrepreneurial Excellence of Francophone Diasporas summit in Paris. Held on April 9, 2026, under the patronage of Emmanuel Macron, the event gathered entrepreneurs and institutional partners to discuss international cooperation and trade. The exhibition, supported by the Groupement du Patronat Francophone (GPF) and Spink & Son, featured historically significant banknotes that reflect the economic and monetary heritage of French-speaking regions. Notable items included the 1923 French Polynesia 500 francs and the 1945 French Somaliland note, illustrating historical economic conditions and political transitions.
