Alison Chawke Released Early from Prison Under Community Return Scheme
Alison Chawke, daughter of Limerick publican Charlie Chawke, has been released from Limerick Female Prison after serving just four weeks of a 12-month sentence. Chawke, aged 41, was jailed alongside her brother Bill for an assault on two men at the Dunraven Arms Hotel in Adare in November 2023. The siblings were intoxicated during the incident, which involved physical attacks on the victims, Gerard Cox and John McHugh. Alison Chawke was sentenced to two years and two months, with the final 14 months suspended, contingent on good behavior and a payment of €1,000. Her early release was facilitated by the Community Return Scheme, an initiative by the Irish Probation Service that allows for the supervised release of prisoners who complete unpaid community work.
