Former U.S. President Barack Obama is set to launch a new podcast series titled 'A Great Book with Barack Obama,' premiering on Audible on September 24, 2026. This six-episode series, a collaboration between Audible and Higher Ground (the media company founded by Barack and Michelle Obama), will feature Obama discussing six books that have significantly impacted his life and worldview. The selected books include 'Song of Solomon' by Toni Morrison, 'The Fire Next Time' by James Baldwin, 'Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy' by John le Carré, 'All the Pretty Horses' by Cormac McCarthy, 'Gilead' by Marilynne Robinson, and 'All the King's Men' by Robert Penn Warren. Each episode will involve Obama discussing one of these books with an as-yet-unannounced guest. The project aims to offer a personal insight into the stories that have shaped his perspectives on identity, leadership, society, and the human experience, moving beyond political discourse to explore the enduring lessons found in literature.
