Long Island Man Arrested for Alleged Attempted Kidnapping of 11-Year-Old Boy
A 51-year-old man named Nelson Acevedo was arrested on Long Island for allegedly attempting to kidnap an 11-year-old boy by luring him with money. The incident occurred on Chester Street in Uniondale, where Acevedo approached the child and tried to entice him into a nearby home. According to court documents, Acevedo called out 'mommy, mommy' to the boy, blew kisses, and offered him $100 to come inside the house. The situation escalated when Acevedo allegedly grabbed the boy's wrist as he tried to escape. The child managed to break free and was seen on surveillance video walking toward Front Street, looking back to see if he was being followed. His parents later contacted the police, leading to an investigation. Acevedo was recognized by a gas station worker while pumping gas, which led to his arrest.
