Severe Storms Expected in New York with Damaging Winds and Flooding Risk
According to the National Weather Service in Buffalo, isolated to scattered severe thunderstorms are anticipated across western and north-central New York on Saturday. The primary concerns include damaging winds and localized flooding. The Rochester region, along with areas near Lake Erie and Lake Ontario, may experience strong wind gusts and higher waves, posing hazards for boaters. The storms are expected to develop during the afternoon and evening, bringing heavy showers that could lead to minor ponding on roads and localized flooding, particularly in regions where the ground is already saturated.
