Grand Rapids Resident Calls for Fuller Avenue Redesign to Enhance Safety
A Grand Rapids resident, Arielle Leipham Ellis, is advocating for a redesign of Fuller Avenue between Michigan and Fulton due to escalating safety concerns. Ellis, who has lived in the Fulton Heights neighborhood for 17 years, reports that traffic on Fuller Avenue has become increasingly dangerous, with cars frequently exceeding the 25-mile-per-hour speed limit. She has witnessed deadly crashes and numerous close calls, noting that vehicles often drive onto curbs and sidewalks. Ellis emphasizes that the area is residential, lined with homes, a park, and small businesses, making the current traffic conditions particularly hazardous for pedestrians and cyclists.
