Sicamous Council Supports Pilot Project for Small Floating Water Park
The District of Sicamous is considering a new attraction with the proposal of a small floating water park. Shawn Dougan, owner of Sic Riderz Rentals, presented the idea to the council, highlighting its potential to boost tourism and the local economy. The proposed water park, smaller than a houseboat at 12-by-34 feet, is designed to accommodate up to 11 people under Canadian regulations. Dougan emphasized the park's safety, insurance, and supervision, addressing concerns from a previous larger-scale proposal in 2017 that was not approved. The council expressed general support for the project, recognizing its potential to enhance community amenities and attract visitors.
