Geneva County Circuit Clerk Indicted for Embezzling Over $93,000
Ashley Powell, the Circuit Clerk of Geneva County, Alabama, has been indicted and arrested for allegedly embezzling more than $93,000 in taxpayer money. The indictment, announced by Attorney General Steve Marshall, accuses Powell of abusing her public office for personal financial gain. Powell, who had been barred from her office months prior to the arrest, is alleged to have illegally redirected public funds to herself.
