Public records and an unearthed obituary for his paternal grandfather, Manuel Gordillo, reveal a different narrative, indicating a family history of medical professionals and successful entrepreneurs. His father is identified as the founder and CEO of a telecommunications firm with high-profile clients. Critics argue that Gordillo's alleged deception undermines his credibility to represent the working class and the principles of democratic socialism.
