Congressman Gabe Amo Launches Second Blue Economy Tour in Rhode Island to Boost Jobs and Innovation
Congressman Gabe Amo (D-RI), who also serves as the Ranking Member of the House Science Committee Subcommittee on the Environment, has initiated his Second Blue Economy Tour. The tour commenced with a visit to REGENT Craft, a Rhode Island-based developer of electric Seagliders, as the company celebrated the ribbon-cutting of its new factory. Over the coming weeks, Congressman Amo plans to traverse Rhode Island’s First Congressional District. His objective is to engage with workers, small businesses, researchers, educators, and non-profit organizations that are integral to the state's Blue Economy. This initiative aims to foster job creation, strengthen local enterprises, and cultivate future industries within Rhode Island, particularly as residents contend with high costs and an evolving economic landscape. The Blue Economy in Rhode Island currently supports 36,000 jobs and contributes over $5 billion annually to the state's gross domestic product.
