Driver Crashes into Pedestrians on Upper West Side, Resulting in Two Deaths and Three Critical Injuries
A tragic incident occurred on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, New York City, where a driver lost control of his vehicle and struck pedestrians on a sidewalk. The crash took place on Amsterdam Avenue near 109th Street at around 6 p.m. on Friday. According to the New York Police Department (NYPD), the driver, a 61-year-old man, may have been under the influence when he jumped the curb, resulting in the deaths of a 35-year-old man and a 46-year-old man. Three other men, aged between 36 and 52, were critically injured and transported to a nearby hospital.
