Ukrainian Defense Companies Seek Co-Production Deals in France to Strengthen European Integration
More than two dozen Ukrainian defense companies visited Paris to explore co-production opportunities with French counterparts. The initiative aims to integrate Ukraine's defense industry with the European defense-industrial base, particularly focusing on drone warfare expertise developed during the conflict with Russia. Ihor Fedirko, CEO of the Ukrainian Council of Defence Industry, highlighted the need for a win-win strategy with French defense firms, which are among Europe's largest and the world's second-biggest arms exporters. The meetings, organized by the French land defense industry group GICAT, involved 27 Ukrainian companies, mostly drone makers, and nearly 60 French firms. The discussions centered on co-producing defense products to enhance equipment flow to the front lines and strengthen European defense capabilities.
