USDA Chief Scientist to Discuss Agricultural Innovation at Heuermann Lecture
Scott Hutchins, the chief scientist and undersecretary for research, education, and economics at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), is set to deliver a lecture on 'Advancing Agricultural Innovation' at the Heuermann Lecture series on April 28. The event will take place at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where Hutchins will engage in a 'fireside chat' with Tiffany Heng-Moss, the Harlan Vice Chancellor for the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources. Hutchins, who oversees major USDA components such as the Agricultural Research Service and the Economic Research Service, will discuss the USDA's strategic management and research partnerships. His background includes leading the creation of the USDA Science Blueprint and the U.S. Ag Innovation Strategy.
