US Marshals Fugitive Apprehended After Chase Damages UTA Crossing Arm, Halting TRAX
Gabriel J Brown, 28, a fugitive wanted by the US Marshals Service, was taken into custody following a police pursuit that began in Kearns and concluded in a Murray neighborhood. The incident, which occurred on Wednesday, started when a Unified Police officer attempted to pull over Brown near 4200 West and 5400 South in Kearns. Brown allegedly fled, disregarding two stop signs and a red light. Another attempt to stop him near 6200 South and Bangerter Highway also failed, leading officers to spike his tires. Despite this, Brown continued driving into Murray, where he reportedly crashed through a UTA crossing arm, causing a TRAX train to stop. He then abandoned his vehicle in a neighborhood and fled on foot before being apprehended by officers. During a subsequent search, authorities discovered a crystal-like substance, which tested positive for methamphetamine, and a knife.
