Sparta Bagel Shop Owner Indicted for Failing to Pay Over $200K in Taxes
Kristian J. Vozza, the owner of The Bagel Bistro in Sussex County, New Jersey, has been indicted for failing to pay more than $200,000 in sales taxes. The indictment was announced by New Jersey Attorney General Jennifer Davenport and the Division of Criminal Justice. The investigation into Vozza Enterprises LLC, which operates The Bagel Bistro, began in June 2025. Authorities allege that Vozza did not remit sales taxes and failed to file tax returns for the business from 2021 through 2024. The investigation revealed that Vozza failed to turn over $205,336 in sales tax to the state during this period. The charges against Vozza include one count of second-degree theft by failure to make required disposition of property received, four counts of failure to file tax returns, and 16 counts of failure to turn over collected taxes.
