Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Launches 2026 Choose Iowa Calendar Contest for Students
Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig has announced the 2026 Choose Iowa Calendar Contest, inviting school-aged students across Iowa to participate. This initiative is part of Iowa's America250 celebration, marking the 250th anniversary of the United States. The contest encourages students to create artwork that combines elements of Iowa agriculture with patriotic themes. The artwork should highlight aspects such as food, beverages, livestock, crop production, or horticulture, alongside symbols of American pride. The contest aims to showcase the importance of agriculture in Iowa and its historical significance to the nation. Winning entries will be featured in the 2026/2027 Choose Iowa calendar, which will be distributed at the Iowa State Fair and online. An awards ceremony is scheduled for August 18, 2026, during the Iowa State Fair, where Secretary Naig will recognize the winning artists.
