UK Police Investigate Officers After Guns Left Outside Mayor's Home
London police are conducting an urgent investigation after armed protection officers guarding Mayor Sadiq Khan left a bag containing firearms outside his home. The Metropolitan Police confirmed that five officers have been removed from front-line duties while inquiries are underway. The weapons, including an MP5 semiautomatic carbine, a Glock pistol, a Taser, and ammunition, were discovered by a couple in south London. The police Directorate of Professional Standards is reviewing the incident, acknowledging the concern it may cause. The bag was reportedly misplaced by on-duty officers shortly before being found by the public.
