Moscow Authorities Detain Israelis at Airport Over Alleged Iran War Involvement
Approximately 40 Israeli citizens were detained and interrogated at Moscow's Domodedovo Airport, reportedly over alleged involvement in the Iran war. The incident, reported by Russian opposition outlet Mediazona, involved passengers arriving from Tel Aviv, some of whom held dual Israel-Russia citizenship. The detainees were held for several hours without access to food, water, or restrooms. During questioning, Russian authorities demanded that the passengers unlock their mobile phones, which they refused, leading to a compromise where all devices were turned off. The detainees were informed that Iran is an ally of Russia, and thus Iran's enemies are considered Russia's enemies. They were eventually released after signing documents warning them of legal risks.
