Ohio BWC Honors Fallen Workers with Annual Memorial Ceremony
The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) recently conducted its 16th annual Fallen Workers Memorial, a ceremony dedicated to honoring 103 Ohioans who lost their lives due to workplace illnesses or accidents. The event, which was also broadcast on The Ohio Channel, was led by BWC Administrator/CEO Stephanie McCloud from the BWC headquarters in downtown Columbus. Ohio Governor Mike DeWine delivered a video message, emphasizing the memorial's role as a reminder of the preciousness of life and the importance of ensuring every Ohioan returns home safely from work. The ceremony included the reading of the names of the fallen by BWC staff and union delegates, and concluded with three tolls of the BWC’s Memorial Bell.
