India's Agriculture Sector Thrives Under PM Modi's Leadership, Reports Union Minister
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan highlighted the significant progress in India's agriculture sector under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government during the 'Agribusiness Summit 2025'. The sector has seen a 44% increase in sugarcane production since 2014. The minister emphasized the importance of integrated farming models, value addition, and diversification into fish and cattle. He also noted the reduction in bio-input producers from 30,000 to 8,000, advocating for balanced fertilizer use to prevent soil degradation. The summit focused on tripling agricultural GDP through new technology and quality agri inputs.
